No, it’s not as good as a Blizzard, but it’s cheaper and will do in a pinch. Plus, the wonderment of using that old plastic straw as the mixing device felt like a glimpse into the future (before the future turned into the past again with wooden cafeteria spoons).

I went with a Smarties flavour, and though my usual order is to add fudge which came as a revelation not that many years ago, realizing late in the game that you could conjure up such alchemy from the McDonald’s menu, I went without to better appreciate the 1995 vintage.
